Dr. Randall Balmer

Randall Balmer, an Episcopal priest, is professor of American religious history at Barnard College, Columbia University, and visiting professor at Yale University Divinity School. A frequent media commentator on religion, Dr. Balmer is an advisory editor for Christianity Today, and has been interviewed by newspapers and magazines across the country, including The Nation, and The New York Times. Balmer has published a dozen books, including "Thy Kingdom Come: How the Religious Right Distorts the Faith and Threatens America: An Evangelical's Lament" and "Mine Eyes Have Seen the Glory: A Journey into the Evangelical Subculture in America," now in its fourth edition, which was made into a three-part documentary for PBS. Dr. Balmer was nominated for an Emmy for writing and hosting that series.
