History

Odyssey Networks is a nonprofit that connects and covers people of different beliefs and perspectives through multimedia. By allowing many different voices to be heard by a wide audience we seek increased understanding between diverse communities.

For more than two decades, Odyssey Networks has used cutting edge media to build bridges of understanding among people of different faiths. The Odyssey Channel broke new ground in 1987 by using cable TV to bring diversity to faith media, giving America's major denominations a platform to share their stories – stories that otherwise would have gone unheard.Odyssey remains a service of the National Interfaith Cable Coalition, Inc.

As the world of news, information and entertainment moved increasingly to multiple platforms, Odyssey morphed into a multimedia organization. By distributing content everywhere: on the web, on mobile, on cable television, at events and gatherings, in classrooms and in e-books, Odyssey is able to connect people of all religious backgrounds.

Along with our expanding technology capabilities, Odyssey’s member network include more than 150 members from the world's major religions – Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Baha'i, Sikh, and Hinduism – representing over 120 million people. Find out more about membership here.
