Selling An Icon? Auctioning The Gun Used To Kill Trayvon Martin

In a move that elicited outrage, disbelief and a range of other emotions, George Zimmerman put up for auction the gun he used to kill Trayvon Martin in 2012. Martin claimed the gun was “an American Firearm icon”. Rabbi Brad Hirschfield, president of Clal and co-founder and executive editor of TheWisdomDaily.com, wonders if Zimmerman truly believes this, is crass commercialization the way to treat an “icon”?
